Asian Inspired Meatballs with Spicy Sauce

  • 1 --- egg
  • 2 level tbsp garlic, ginger, shallot mix, from ALDI
  • 200 grams medium rice
  • 20 grams olive oil

  • 2 level tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 level teaspoons brown sugar

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.       If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

    BEGIN PREPARATION
  1. Add garlic,ginger and shallot mixture. Add mince of your choice and egg, mix for 10seconds - Counter-clockwise operation speed 4.
    Scoop a heaped dessertspoon of mince and roll into a ball, you should be able to make 16+. Place these in your Varoma top and bottom trays.

    COOKING MEAT AND RICE

    Add 1 litre of water into the bowl and add 20 grams of Olive Oil. Place the steamer basket into the jug and weigh in 200g of rice, mix with your spatula then place on the Varoma trays and lid and cook for 20minutes, 100 deg, Speed 4.
    The rice will cook and so will the meat balls.

    The mince you use can be beef, chicken or pork which ever you prefer


    SAUCE INGREDIENTS
    Place all ingredients into a screw top jar and shake to combine.
    Place rice into bowls, top with meatballs and drizzle the sauce over the top.
