The whole family LOVED this Beef Stew! Such a tasty, hearty meal for a cooler night, plus those Dumplings were a bonus. (I did try making them as GF & DF so they were on the tougher side but everyone devoured them lol, however I will def try them again and not mix them as much.) I only used 1 Tablespoon of Vegie stock and the stew was still very tasty, hubby didn't add extra salt as he usually does to my dishes, and I found it on the saltier side for me. Meat was very tender, cooked the time suggested and I used chuck/stewing steak. Served with mashed potatoes (made on stovetop as I was already running late with dinner). Thank you! 😊😋😘

Absolutely fantastic flavour. I didn't have buttermilk so I used 3:1 of sour cream & milk & also added parmasen cheese to the dumplings mixture as suggested by others. Also added quartered mushrooms to bottom of varoma (not liked by all), red capsicum & chopped baby spinach & halved the water quantity. Thanks so much for sharing a superb recipe.
