Recipe's preparation

  1. Zest lemon in TM if not using a microplane and set aside.

Put 20g olive oil in TM and heat 1min/Varoma/Gentle stir setting. Quarter chicken thigh fillets and in two batches cook in TM 3mins/Varoma/counter-clockwise operation/Gentle stir setting. Use slotted spoon to remove chicken and set aside.

Add onion and garlic clove chop 2sec/speed 7.

Add chopped leek 3sec/speed 5. I think it's nice to see some textured leek.

Add butter and saute for 6 minutes/varoma/counter-clockwise operation/Gentle stir setting. While this is cooking slice mushrooms and add through the lid.

Add water, stock, lemon juice and zest, tarragon, dijon, cream. Cook 3 mins/varoma/counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting

Add chicken and season cook 30 mins/100C/counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting.

Cook with basket on top to allow some evaporation. Sauce will reduce and thicken when done.

Tip

This is an excellent births, deaths and funeral meal. It freezes really well and actually tastes better the next day. Serve with rice or potatoes (which you could steam in the varoma while cooking casserole). If it's summer serve with green tossed salad and crusty bread.

This is a seriously good recipe but leave the water out! Way too runny otherwise. Easy meal, freezes well or refrigerates if you want it again the next day. There's only my wife and I so it easily makes three meals for us. Highly recommended!

Eating Chicken Casserole with Mustard and Tarragon Sauce sounds delicious. I’ve checked with the professional essay writing services which have all been positive about this dish. And so, I am going to try making it for dinner.

Delicious sauce, the hint of lemon is really nice. I added a bit or cornflour & water paste to thicken a bit more.

I tried cooking veggies in the Varoma on top but they were'nt cooked enough, do you think I could have cooked it on Varoma teperature? I didn't want to burn it though.

I had so much sauce left over that I saved it and 2 nights later I added mixed veggies, cooked some pasta and voila, another dinner.... winning.

Yum! What a really tasty recipe. I too found it a little watery but a bit of corn flour fixed that. My 14 year old, who hates casseroles, loved it and that's huge coming from him! Thanks for sharing.

  • This recipe is really tasty

    Submitted by DaisyBlom on 18. April 2014 - 21:14.

This recipe is really tasty and my family and I enjoyed it. I am a beginner at using the Thermomix and even though I follow the recipe to the letter, I found that I couldn't get everything in without exceeding the maximum capacity of the bowl. I made a plan and added half the chicken just before serving. I think next time (and there will be a next time!) I will not add the water and just see how the consistency is during cooking and add as needed. I think I'll use less chicken as well.

Thank you for the recipe, it is delicious!

    Submitted by TrishTonk on 9. April 2014 - 11:01.

Tried this recipe and it is quite tasty but i don't know if people would like to try it once they see your comment: "This is an excellent births, deaths and funeral meal". Just sounds a bit morbid.
