Chicken Massaman

  • 120 g massaman curry paste
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 500 g chicken thighs, diced
  • 400ml coconut cream
  • 235 g potato, diced
  • 200 g sweet potato, diced
  • 1 heaped teaspoon tamarind
  • 2 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 piece palm sugar
  • 50 g peanuts, roasted, unsalted

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add massaman paste and onion to bowl. Saute 5 mins/100C/reverse speed soft.

    Add chicken and coconut cream to bowl. 

    Insert basket and add potato and sweet potato.

    Cook 10 min/100C/reverse speed 1.

    Remove basket, stir sauce and add potato and sweet potato to bowl with tamarind, fish sauce and palm sugar.

    Cook 10 mins/100C/reverse speed soft.

    Add peanuts and cook 5 mins/100C/reverse speed soft.
