Healthy Butter Chicken

Ingredients

4 portion(s)

Butter Chicken

  • 1 onion, (large)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Tandoori Paste, (or to taste)
  • olive oil
  • 1 can tomatoes, diced, (410g)
  • 2 1/2 tsp TM vege stock
  • 100 grams dried red lentils
  • 280 grams water
  • 500 grams chicken raw, largish cubes
  • 130 grams light cream, optional

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. 1. Half onions, place into TM bowl and chop Sp 5 for 2-3 seconds. Add oil and cook 3 mins/100/ Sp1

    2. Add Tandori paste (approx 30g) - cook 1 min/100/Sp1

    3. Add tin tomatoes, vege stock, lentils and water - cook 10 mins/100/Counter-clockwise operation/Sp1

    4. Add chicken and cook a further 15 mins/100/Counter-clockwise operation/Sp1.

    5. Stir in cream to serve OR add and mix Sp3 for 3-4 seconds.

Tip

This recipe can easily be halved to serve 2 - reduce cooking time - 10minutes step 4 and 10 minutes step 5

Serve with steamed rice (as per EDC), cauliflower rice, or pappadums. I also like to add some steamed veges (done while cooking rice).

    Sorry about that Kez. I have deleted the "doubling" and tested again. I really love this recipe and flavours so hope others enjoy this too.

    Cauliflower rice that I do - approx 400g florets, chop speed 7 to resemble rice - cook 10 minutes,100 degrees speed Gentle stir setting. No water required.

    Whole family loved this - even my 3 and 1 year old had seconds tmrc_emoticons.)

    Only issue I had was I tried to double the batch as above, only to find at the last stage it doesn't fit in the bowl. I had to tip out half and do from step 4 in 2 batches.
