Tip

I brown my mince first in a frypan as I like it chunky. You could also leave it out and have a vegetarian sauce.

You could always add the mince in raw while the sauce is cooking but it may need further cooking time and it will be a very fine consistency.

Flavour great but too watery. Made tonight with a variety of fresh tomatoes. That may be the reason it was very watery. Way too thin for our palate, even after adding cornflour & beans, cooking for an extra 10 minutes. Flavour was great though, so will play around with the water quantity next time.

Family favourite! I halved the chilli to suit the fussy people's palate, but still delicious. Don't limit this sauce to Nacho's. Stir through pasta, use in wraps, or tortillas- versatile and tasty. 5 star

    Submitted by Sncmatthews on 30. January 2015 - 20:20.

Just made this for dinner and it was delicious!! Followed the recipe but changed step 4 a bit... Added the beans to the bowl and sauce, put raw mince in the basket and placed basket in the bowl, cooked for 10mins, 100 degrees, reverse, soft with MC on. Stirred mince and cooked for a further 5 mins. Once cooked added the mince to the sauce. It was perfect!! Will add some fresh chilli as well next time for a bit more heat!!

Great recipe, yum! Only variations I made was adding 1/2 onion, 4 cloves garlic, 1 carrot at step 1. Didnt have fresh tomato's on hand so used half a bottle of passata and added broken up raw mince at step 4 cooked 15mins/100deg/rev/sp1.
