Ingredients

Pork and Fennel Ragu

  • 1 onion, white, medium
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 level tsp dried fennel seeds
  • 1/2 level teaspoons dried thyme
  • 500 grams pork fillet, chopped in small chunks
  • 100 grams dry white wine
  • 300 grams canned tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 Chicken Stock Cube
  • 1 level teaspoons sugar raw
  • 3 level tbsp cream
  • 1 packages gnocchi

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add garlic and blitz for 2 seconds, speed 8
  2. Cut onion in half and add to bowl - chop 3 seconds speed 4
  3. Add fennel seeds and cook 3 minutes, 100C, Counter-clockwise operation speed 1 (no MC)
  4. Add pork and cook 2 minutes, 100C, Counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting (no MC)
  5. Add all ingredients except cream and cook for 15 minutes, varoma, Counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting (no MC). Place the basket on top to prevent spitting.
  6. While the ragu is ccoking boil a pan of water and cook gnocchi.
  7. Stir the cream through the ragu, then stir the ragu through the drained gnocchi. Serve with cracked black pepper.

Tip

Check after 10 minutes of cooking - if the sauce is too thin add a tspn of cornflour mixed with a little water and continue cooking. You want a thick sauce so it will cling to the gnocchi.

    I used pork sausage steamed for first amount of time, then removed skin and cut them into pieces.
    Used about 1-2 slices of fresh fennel and put int at same time of onion, then only added about 1/8 fennel seeds.
    I added fresh thyme, 1 tbsp tomato paste and only 20g cream.

    Served with Mashed potato
    Yum was a hit with the family Love
