Marinade

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Dried Onion Flakes/Granules
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 Cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Ketjap Manis
  • 1/2 cup Bourbon
  • 1/4 Cup Honey

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Sticky Bourbon Wings
  1. 1. Place chicken wings into a container ready for marinade.

    2. Add garlic to bowl, chop for 3 secs, speed 7.

    3. Add all other ingredients, mix 5 secs, .

    4. Pour marinade over chicken wings, leave for 2 hours. 

    5. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.

    6. Transfer chicken wings to trays & baste with marinade, cook for about 20 minutes or until cooked through, turning after 10 mins & baste with marinade again.

Tip

The excess marinade can be cooked and used as a dipping sauce. (Needs to be cooked as it has been in contact with raw chicken).

  • So great. Made it with 3kg of chicken wings so...

    So great. Made it with 3kg of chicken wings so doubled the sauce and had them marinating most of the day. Also boiled the wings with some powerdered chicken stock to reduce the fat prior to marinating. Served with Blue Cheese Sauce and Non Fried Fried Rice (both from the receipe community).
