      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Teriyaki Chicken
  1. Place all ingredients into TM.

Mix on speed 8 for 30 seconds

    Then cook 2 minutes/90degrees/speed 2.

Pour sauce over chicken in casserole dish or on shallow tray. (Makes alot of sauce so store for later use if smaller portion of chicken)

Cook in 190 degree oven for 45-50 minutes.

  2. Basmati Rice
  3. Place 400grams of rice in TM basket and rinse until water runs clear.

Place water into mixing bowl, insert TM basket and cook 20 minutes/100degrees/speed4.

Once cooked, remove rice from basket and fluff with a fork ready to serve.

This is an absolute winner. I was looking for a quick delicious dinner and I found it. I read all the comments first and halved the recipe as I was only using 500g of chicken and it worked perfectly. Thank you for a great recipe. Love

Whole family absolutely loved this dinner with a side salad. It will be added to the rotation for sure. It was incredibly easy to make too, a win all round! I will say if you don't want it too sweet then maybe reduse the sugar somewhat, but we loved it exactly as it was! Thank you!

    Submitted by Shallaby on 30. July 2018 - 22:42.

Loveddddd this!!! I added an additional tablespoon of cornflour as others had mentioned the sauce didn’t thicken up. Worked pretty well but would recommend not overloading the baking dish/covering the chicken in the sauce as it was to much for it to really ‘caramelise’. Also pricked the chicken with a knife all over and marinated in the fridge for a good 3 hours.

Had as my doubts as after I made the marinade I opened the lid and thought for sure I’d overdone the ginger but was not the case at all.

Super easy, husband and 18 month old both loved it as much as I did.

will definitely be making again and can’t wait for the next family lunch/dinner to impress the rest of the family 😍!!

Easy and delicious. Marinated 1kg of chopped chicken breast for a few hours then wok fried in batches. Added a bit of cornflour to thicken remaining sauce at the end. Sprinkled with sesame seeds and spring onions. Kids loved it.

Easy and tasty - I didn’t put the chicken in the TM. I made the marinade and let it cool before using about 1/3 of it to marinate about 500g of diced chicken thigh fillet for a couple of hours. I then stir fried the chicken with some broccoli.

This is a really good recipe. I think maybe I may use low salt soy sauce next time as it was a bit salty. I also put it in a frypan and made it nice and glossy and sticky. Really good, thanks for sharing.

  • Very yummy recipe and as we

    Submitted by Fisch79 on 11. March 2016 - 14:06.

Very yummy recipe and as we currently have a Japanese student with us, he commented that it was very good also so thats saying something! Although I didn't have ginger and therefore added a little extra garlic, still really nice.

Also I had to leave the house half way through cooking so cooked on 140 degrees instead of 190 degrees for 40 mins. When I returned home the sauce wasn't very thick so popped onto stove and took 2 mins in a pan to thicken nicely.

Even my littles ones (7 & 5) ate with no fuss. Will definately make again.
