    Wash and dry TM Bowl

  5. Add a selection of vegetables onto the top layer of  the Varoma and place into position after 15 minutes of cooking (adjust cooking time depending on vegetable choice)

    When cooked, remove Varoma.

Mix cornflour with a little water in a small bowl.

Turn the speed dial to 3 and pour the cornflour mix into the bowl and continue mixing for 2 minutes.  (The existing heat from the bowl will cook the cornflour and thicken the sauce.)

I made the meatballs and they were a bit wet, I steamed in the varoma and also tried in the oven - both tasty. The next lot I made I used 250g cauliflower instead of spinach and mushroom. awesome. thanks

Yummo! Delicious meatballs. With an abundance of fresh garden produce I also used the zucchini in the sauce. Will be making this recipe again.  Thanks for sharing. tmrc_emoticons.)

We all really liked this. I served it with rice. I added half a small red capsicum in with the mushrooms for the meatballs. Then I added a small zucchini in with the tomatoes in the sauce to just add another veggie to the dish. Easy and yummy and the kids gobbled it up!  Thanks tmrc_emoticons.-)

  • These were delicious! I used

    Submitted by nattyree on 16. December 2014 - 18:12.

These were delicious! I used less water than the recipe stated, about 150g, and the sauce was nice and thick. I had to steam the veggies separately as I didn't have enough room in the Varoma, what with all of the meatballs. DH and DS (3 yo) loved it and it will become a regular recipe in our house.

thanks Brooke, perhaps I should change the amount of water in the recipe.  I'll give it a test run with 200g and see how it goes and report back.

    Submitted by CaityBaileyW on 26. November 2013 - 14:53.

My sauce was still very watery even after the cornflour - but I do prefer a very thick sauce. I doubled the recipe so I couldn't fit all the meatballs in the varoma so just pan fried them (in a non stick pan with no oil) and they were very nice as rissoles as well.
