Vegetable Tain

  • 1 brown onion, large, halved
  • 30 g olive oil
  • 2 zucchini, medium/large
  • 1 sweet potato, medium
  • 4 potatoes, small/medium
  • 4 Roma tomatoes
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 50 g olive oil

Cheese Topping

  • 100 g Cheddar cheese, you can substitute a part of this for mozzarella
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese
  • 30 g panko breadcrumbs
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp dried italian herbs

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. Recipe's preparation

  1. Insert Thermomix Cutter accessory
  2. Using the Slicing Mode (thick), slice the Zucchini, Potato, Sweet Potato, Roma Tomatoes & move to seperate bowl
  3. Select Grating Mode (Thin) and grate Cheddar Cheese & Parmesan Cheese. Move to bowl.
  4. Remove Thermomix Cutter accessory
  5. Add onion & olive oil to bowl. Chop 5 sec, speed 5
  6. Saute 3 mins, 100°C, speed 2
  7. Spread onions over base of pie or tian dish
  8. Sprinkle 1/4 of the cheese blend over the onions
  9. Add Garlic & Olive Oil to Thermomix Bowl & blend 10 seconds, speed 9
  10. Arrange vegetables by stacking different vegetables and arranging around the dish on top of the onions in a circular pattern
  11. Drizzle garlic/oil mixture over the vegetables
  12. Add breadcrumbs, herbs, salt to the cheese blend and mix
  13. Spread cheese/breadcrumb mixture over the vegetables
  14. Bake at 180°C for around 30 minutes until golden brown
