  • 125 grams sugar
  • 375 grams flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Base
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a baking dish (23 x 33cm) with baking paper and set aside.
  2. Place butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla extract into mixing bowl and mix 10 sec/speed 6. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula and knead 20sec (DOUGH mode). Mixture will be a breadcrumb consistency.
  3. Set aside 200 g of base mixture for topping.
  4. Transfer rest into prepared baking tin and lightly press down to form a smooth surface. Place in fridge to chill.
  5. Clean and dry mixing bowl.
  6. Caramel
  7. Place condensed milk, butter, golden syrup, salt and vanilla extract into mixing bowl and cook 20 min/100°C/speed 3, placing simmering basket onto mixing bowl lid.
  8. Pour caramel filling mixture over cooled base in tin and sprinkle remainder of set aside base mixture evenly over slice.
  9. Bake slice for 20-25 mins or until filling is a deep golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely before removing from tin.
