Apple Pie Jam

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 granny smith apples, Peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ginger, Peeled and sliced finely
  • 4 Cups Caster Sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, Packed
  • 30 grams Jam setter with pecktin
  • 1 teaspoon unsalted butter

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Apple Pie Jam
  1. Peel, core and dice apples.

    Place into thermomixer. Cover with approx 4 cups of water, making sure the apples are covered. 

    Add in the spices and butter. Cook for 15-20 min speed 2, 100 degrees. Simmer basket on top.

    Add in both sugars ang jam setter, cook for 10-15 min speed 3 110 degrees. Simmer basket on top.

    Place in sterilised jars. Add in some small diced up Apple And turn the jars upside down with the lid on for them to set.
