- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
- Add chickpeas to bowl to TM, with MC in place, mix 30 sec/9 speed. Scrape down sides of bowl, mix 10 sec/9 speed to create chickpea flour. Set aside.
Add 1/2 cup water, remaining ingredients to bowl with MC in place mix 10 sec/4 speed.
Mix 3 min/1 speed without MC in place, slowly add chickpea flour to bowl through hole in lid. Mix until a paste is formed.
Mix 3 min/1 speed without MC in place, slowly add remaining water to bowl through hole in lid, until well combined.
Cook 10min/4 speed/100C.
Allow to cool. Hummus will thicken as it cools.
