      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1.

Place all ingredients into TM bowl and cook for 30 minutes, varoma, speed 1, MC OFF. Use the steaming basket on top of the lid to prevent food splatters!

For a thicker jam, cook for another 10 minutes, varoma, speed 1.

Pour jam into a clean jar.

This jam recipe was inspired by a traditional strawberry jam recipe by CSR, which I have converted to be made in the Thermomix.

Tip

This recipe makes enough for one small-medium sized jar.

Once opened this jam will last up to 3 months in the fridge.

Other fruits can be used in place of the strawberries. This is great with raspberries, apricots, peaches, blueberries or any other fruit you like.

I have used this recipe a couple of times now and it turns out perfect each time. I used a Pink Lady apple and turned the speed up to 1.5 as it was getting close to boiling over. It didn't need cooking any longer than the 30 minutes as it was very thick. Those who are cooking longer may consider the type of apple you use as the cause of this. (If you change your apples - don't overcook it!) I can't wait for it to cool down so I can start eating my favourite jam!! Thanks for sharing.

I have made this many times for my family as well as for extended family and friends and constantly get requests for more.
I mixed it up a couple of weeks ago and made mixed berry which was awesome, this weekend I'll be making Blueberry jam which I'm sure is also going to be brilliant.

Just made this and it was still too runny even after adding the 10 minutes on Varoma, it may be my appliance as I have found this to happen with other jam recipes.  I added another 10 and it tastes awesome, didnt splatter much at all with the basket in place and was super easy to do, thank you for sharing.

Lovely jam! I halved the recipe as I didn't have enough strawberries but wanted to use up what I had. I got distracted so cooked it a little longer than needed- ended up with a thick, sweet jam which will be lovely warmed up and spread on scones with cream.

    Submitted by lucinda007lulu on 4. September 2015 - 21:24.

Wonderful! I liked it so much I turned around and made it again when I'd finished the first batch.

Love that it's not too sweet (I reduced the sugar to 100gms as I'm not a fan of too much sweetness), and I used vanilla seeds from a pod instead of extract.

My jam filled a 370gram jar with a little bit left over for taste testing.

    Thanks tmrc_emoticons.)

The aroma this set off while cooking was just divine! I've never made jam before but will definitely be stocking up on strawberries and freezing them now that they are so cheap so I can make this again and again. I did find it very sweet and will try dropping the sugar content down to maybe 150g next time. Hubby said it was better than store brought!

    Submitted by Aussie TM5 Thermomixer on 29. June 2015 - 11:46.

    Hi burpie7,

Feel free to omit the butter tmrc_emoticons.)

I have included it as it is a traditional recipe that I used pre-Thermie, and I believe the butter is to help clarify the jam and get rid of, or reduce, foaming.  It is also said that the fats from the butter produce a thin layer on top of the jam to help preserve it and keep out the air.  But as I said, you can leave it out and I'm sure it won't affect the taste.  Hope you like it.

Made this with 100g of Rapadura Sugar as suggested in the comments, it tastes perfect as far as sweetness goes however I found it very thick... Which for some people is great but my kids like a little more runnier, so I will try to add some more fruit next time! Thanks for sharing the recipe though!
