For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- Place 1200ml water into the TM bowl, insert the simmering basket and place the potato and carrot inside. Steam for 18-20 minutes/varoma/spd 3. Once cooked set aside.
- Tip water out of TM bowl, add the onion and garlic, chop for 3 sec/spd 7. Scrape down sides of bowl and sauté for 3 minutes/100/spd 1.
- Weigh in remaining ingredients, add the steamed potato and carrot and blend for 1 minute/speed 9. Scrape down and repeat if required. Should be a smooth pasta like sauce.
- Enjoy as a dip, with nachos or as a pasta sauce.
