More of a marmalade, I’d say. I cored the apples but left the peel on, and added the whole lemon cut into quarters. The whole lemon gives the jam that lovely, slightly bitter marmalade taste. Not at all sickly sweet and very moreish! delicious.

This is a great recipe. I peeled the apples and the lemon (recipe doesn't state this but it turned out really good)

Hi, just wondering, do you use the whole lemon? Also, do you peel the apples or leave the skin on? Thanks

Do you core and peel the apples? Do you peel the lemon or put in whole?

  • Made 3 x 250ml jars.  Nice

    Submitted by AllisonB on 12. August 2015 - 18:23.

Made 3 x 250ml jars.  Nice flavour, not too sweet.  Quite thick, not as syruppy as a jam I would buy.  Very easy.

  • Just adding that worked well

Just adding that worked well for me and made 3 jars worth. Much more economical than straight strawberry jam.

Works a treat but I always pop the tm basket on top as it does overflow a bit.
