      TM 6
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place strawberries, lemon juice, apple and lastly the sugar into the mixing bowl. Add the sugar last to help prevent it catching.
Use the simmering basket instead of measuring cup on top of lids
Cook for 35 minutes, on Varoma, speed 1.5.
Jam may begin to bubble over at Varoma temp, if this happens lower temp to 110/100 degrees. Make sure you keep watch so it doesn’t boil over.

Tip

To test if jam is ready put 1 teaspoon on a plate and put in the freezer. After approx 5 minutes if you can put your finger through the jam and it stays seperate it’s ready. If not cook for another 5 minutes, Varoma speed 1.5 till ready.

To sterilise jars wash in hot soapy water and put in the oven at approx 100degrees. Pour hot jam straight into jars and seal. Ensure the vacuum seal - if not put in the fridge and eat that jar first!

This recipe was created after I tried a good 4 different jam recipes and couldn’t get it quite right.
