Vegan Feta Cheese

  • 300 grams Firm tofu
  • 110 grams refined coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp Nutritional Yeast Flakes
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add 110 coconut oil to the bowl and heat for 40 sec/50
    degrees/speed 2.
  2. Add 300 grams of firm tofu
  3. Add:
    * 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
    * 2 tsp nutritional yeast
    * 1 tsp onion powder
    * 1 tsp garlic powder
    * 1 tsp salt
    * 0.5 to 1 tsp dried herbs
  4. Blend 5-8seconds/speed 7
  5. Scrape the sides of the bowl. Repeat once or twice until desired consistency is achieved.
  6. Transfer to a jar and place in the fridge for a few hours

Tip

The original recipe is credited to Pick Up Limes. I've made minor adjustments and converted to Thermo-method.


Make sure you use refined coconut oil. This means that the coconut taste has been removed and it has neutral flavour.


This "cheese" can be eaten straight out of the bowl but it will set and harden in the fridge.
