I wouldn’t normally comment on a recipe that I’d altered but this turned out so good that I just have to.
I really only followed the ingredients and just used what quantities I had on hand. A whole bunch of celery, 3 potato’s, couple of onions, garlic, big chunk of butter and filled to the Max line with water and a couple of tablespoons of stock paste. It’s a delicious soup and I’m really surprised because I hate celery.
I always end up throwing away most of the bunch after only using one stem in my stock paste when I make it but this recipe will be how I use it from now on
    Thank you!

When your home alone and feel like soup, an easy soup. Whip this one up, 1/2 the recipe, but added whole potato and a little extra celery. Very tasty and will make again. Leftovers for lunch tomorrow when hubby gets home. Gotta love that.

Very buttery. Would probably halve the butter if making again. I also had to strain my soup because my celery must have been really stringy. Thanks for the recipe.

Made this tonight. Really yummy. I included the full celery stalk, leaves and all. I think that might have made this slightly bitter. Should I have left the leaves out?

Nice way to use up celery. Needed a full bunch as far too much stock. I added a parsnip and used TM veggie stock and only 60 g butter. We both liked the flavour.

Loved this recipe and so did my toddler. I used 750mls water with vege stock because I like soup thick. I also added leftover ham.

The soup tasted nice but I found the resulting soup not thick enough for me.  Next time I will reduce the amount of liquid to 800ml and then add milk or cream if its too thick at the end

  • Easy & tasty, I used roasted

    Submitted by NanCee.60 on 21. July 2015 - 06:31.

Easy & tasty, I used roasted sweet potato (left over from previous dinner) & added Choko (we have an abundance)

I wanted to eat it all myself. Might add garlic next time.

I used chicken and tomato stock from freezer (left after cooking chicken in the varoma).

    Submitted by Keryma on 28. September 2014 - 14:30.

WOW! What a nice little soup is this one. It was a bit light for our liking but very nice indeed. Next time, I think I'll use some milk instead of the stock or an extra potato for thickening. It did not require any cream at all and made a quick and yummy lunch  tmrc_emoticons.D
