Pea and Tempeh Soup

  • 200 g green split peas, soak over night
  • 3 Organic potatoes, scrubbed peeled cubed
  • 1 brown onion, quartered
  • 3 stalks celery with leaves, roughly cut
  • 1 package ready to eat organic Tempeh
  • 3/4 l water
  • 1 heaped tablespoon ™ Stock Paste

Recipe's preparation

  1. DO: put soaked split peas, celery, potatoes in simmering basket.Put 3/4 Ltr water with 1 tbs stock paste ( be generous!) in the jug. Put in place with varoma dish, with  frozen,sealed pack of Tempeh, on tray. Cook for 20 min, varoma temp, speed 4,then stop and take Tempeh out of its bag, cut it in squares. Tip the contens of simmering basket with the help of the spatula in the water. Add the Tempeh as well. Close the lid. Place empty simmering basket on top of the lid. Cook 10/20 min, according to your taste,varoma temp, speed soft,reverse.

  3. The night before you make this soup, put the peas in a bowl and cover with water, let it stand. Pour the water off and use the soaked peas as the recipe states.

Tip

Tempeh is a fermented BIO-Dynamic soybean "meat-like" food. Most health food shops have it in their freezers. If you have a frozen pack, put the frozen Tempeh in its sealed pack, in the top of your Varoma dish, while you make the soup. if not frozen skip this step, cut it in squares and add to the soup last 10 min.
