Recipe's preparation

  1. Mill sugar on speed 9 for 3 seconds

Add butter to TMX bowl and melt for 1 minute at 90° on soft speed

Add milk, vanilla/syrup and eggs to TMX bowl and beat for 10 seconds on speed 4.

Add remaining ingredients and mix for 10 seconds on speed 6

Cook as per your waffle maker instructions. Enjoy!

This is a modified version of faffa 70's Buttermilk pancakes recipe, because we had no buttermilk and 5 greedy impatient little mouths to feed tmrc_emoticons.)  The waffles still turned out beautifully with plain milk, and were delicious and fluffy.

Tip

Another option if you're out of buttermilk is to add 2 tablespoons of vinegar or lemon juice to the milk and wait 10 minutes before adding the milk to the mix. Also apparently you can subsitute milk with yoghurt, however we haven't tried this yet so can't guarantee results – will have to give this a try next time!

I substituted plain yoghurt for the milk. And added both 1tsp vanilla and 1tbl mapel syrup.
Although they aren't as crispy as the store bought ones, a quick turn in the toaster, straight from the waffle maker, solved the problem.
    Lovely and fluffy.
    Delicious.

First time making waffles and these were so easy to make and absolutely delicious. Whole family loved them thank you 😊

Just tried your recipe, super easy. My family wanted sweet chocolate ones so I doubled the sugar and added a heap teaspoon of cocoa powder. They cooked perfectly and were very fluffy and crisp on the outside. This will definitely be a recipe I’ll cook again.

    Thank you.

Do not use. Didn’t rise at all and we’re soggy 😟

Thank you - So quick & easy. Not as crispy as others though.

I tried this recipe after trying this one https://www.recipecommunity.com.au/desserts-sweets-recipes/classic-waffles/5r6uf3ks-d4e0a-874190-cfcd2-b13ac01n and was a bit dissapointed. The waffles tasted too bi-carby and weren't crispy and the texture was more like a pancake. There was no comparison.

Thank you for this recipe, these were great and super easy. I ended up using 200gm homemade vanilla yoghurt, 200gm full cream milk. Will definitely make again.

Do these usually go crispy when cooked? While my kids said they tasted fine - they were more like waffle shaped pancakes! Floppy and definitely not like waffles.
