Ingredients

Chutney

  • 1 onion, large
  • 2.5 centimetres piece of fresh ginger, peeled
  • 175 grams apple cider vinegar
  • 140 grams caster sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 level teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 level teaspoon Ground Coriander
  • 1/2 level teaspoon allspice, ground
  • 1 red chillis, dried
  • 300 grams dried cranberries or craisins
  • 4 pears, cored quartered and skin left on

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place onion and garlic in TM bowl and chop 6 secs speed 6.

    Add all other ingredients except pears and cook for approx 30 mins at 100 degrees Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" at speed 2 on reversewithout MC in place.

    Add chopped pears and continue to cook until mixture is thickened in appearance. Approx another 10 mins.

    Sterilise four jars either in dishwasher or in low oven after they have been carefully washed and dried.

    Pour into jars and cover and seal.

    Excellent with cheese, cold meats or poultry.

Tip

Good all season chutney. Dried cranberries easily available. Apples, Granny Smith can be used in place of pears. Addition of more or less spices or different vinegars to suit your taste makes a good variation. Good as a Christmas gift or fundraiser
