If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Almond Crescents
  1. Place sugar and vanilla sugar into mixing bowl 20 sec/sp10 and set aside.

Add almonds into mixing bowl 5 sec/sp7.

Place flour, 70 gr of the reserved sugar, butter into mixing bowl 40sec/sp5 and use the spatula gently to help form the dough.

Remove the dough, wrap it in glad wrap and put it in the fridge for 2 hrs.

Preheat your oven to 180c and get a baking tray with backing paper ready.

Take walnut sized pieces from the dough and form small rolls first and shape them into crescents.

Place them onto your baking tray and bake for 15-20 min.

Then roll the almond crescents in the remaining sugar while still warm and let them cool completely  on a wire rack.

yum yum yum… my elderly mum (originally from Germany) used to bake a mountain of these at Christmas, but her eyesight is failing now, so I can confidently carry on the tradition! Thank you Smile
