My go to recipe for caramel slice. Works out perfectly every time and reminds me of my aunt's home made slice from childhood. Highly recommended. Thanks for sharing.

The caramel in this recipe is great. I used a different base and the chocolate topping did not work out so I will be looking for a different recipe for that. But the caramel is a keeper!

It's my go to recipe for caramel slice. I don't take much notice of photos, cos nothing ends up looking like the photos.
So long as it tastes good, I'm happy, and so is everyone I've given it to

  • Fake picture....

    Submitted by AllergyMama on 9. February 2017 - 13:18.

    Fake picture.

    Picture stolen from http://myfoodbook.com.au/recipes/show/dark-chocolate-caramel-slice

This was a nice recipe but didn't turn out any thing like the picture. Base was double the amount of caramel. 15 min was too much time for the base to cook. Way too much chocolate. If I was to make this again, I would:

    Cook base for 7-10 min

    Double the caramel filling

    Half the choc topping.

On a positve note, the base coped with using self raising gluten free flour ok.

  • Love this recipe, so similar

    Submitted by katiemcmiles on 19. September 2016 - 09:36.

Love this recipe, so similar to the one that i used prior to owning a thermomix.. Only thing i had to change was when i was melting the chocolate for the topping it needed longer then noted in the recipe and next time i make it i might add a bit more of both topping ingredients to make a slightly thicker top layer.
