Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
Pre heat oven to 200.C. Line a baking tray with non stick baking paper.
Add sugar and cinnamon to bowl and mix speed 5 for 10 seconds.
Set aside on a plate for rolling the churros in. Sprinkle some of this mixture onto baking tray.
Add boiling water and butter and mix 2 minutes/varoma/speed 3 until butter has melted completely. Add flour and mix 1 minute/varoma/speed 5. Scrape down sides and mix a little longer if required.
With blades turning on speed 5, add eggs one at a time and allow to beat for 1 minute. The mixture will look glossy.
Spoon into piping bag with a 1cm star nozzle.
Squeese out stick size lengths (allow mixture to expand slightly when baking). Bake for 15-20mins or until golden brown.
Serve with melted chocolate or enjoy simply on there own

I fried mine and they were delicious. I made them really thin so they cooked through really quickly. Shared with my neighbour and she said she hasn't tried better even when in Spain. Thank you!

Oven baking really didnt work for me at all but this recipe makes the most perfect deep-fried churros! I made them for 8 guests at a mexican themed dinner party and they were such a hit! Will definitely use this recipe again and again!

I must of done something wrong as this didn’t work for me! The mixture was quite “doughy” and when cooked in my Kmart $19 churros maker they were dark on the outside and still uncooked/doughy in the middle 😭
Thanks so much for this
Thanks so much for this wonderful recipe. Works really well with white wings gluten free flour. Made it in my $19 Kmart churros maker and tasted DELICIOUS!! Served with 100g melted dark chocolate mixed with pure cream. Oh so good...

Yummo! I too, forgot to add the vanilla bean paste even though I had read all the comments-lol! Easy to make & taste good! I cooked mine using a churros maker I got from K-Mart for $19, they cook within about 4-5mins!
As a brand new thermomix
As a brand new thermomix owner I'm doing my best, but could you please tell me when I was supposed to add the vanilla and what does the step "varoma" mean? I know these are probably really silly questions but I just tried to make this with my son and it was an epic failure
We don't know where we went wrong and are both feeling a bit useless.
Thank you
I also forgot to add the
I also forgot to add the vanilla, even after reading people's comments (durrrrp!!)
But they are very nice, just not Spanish churros, they are more like the Brazilian ones, i.e. more doughy than airy but still tasty so thanks for the recipe!
Churros were pretty good, we
Churros were pretty good, we may have piped them a bit thin and made choc sauce from the edc.

Family loved them!
The only thing I forgot to add was the vanilla bean as this step was not included in the method. They turned out really well though. If I had have added the vanilla it would have given them the flavour that was missing. Have now written it on my printed recipe so I won't forget next time. I'm sure I'm not the only one that did this so Tracey if you could fix this up, that will be great. Will be making them again for sure. Thanks for sharing.
