Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl! -

Recipe's preparation
- Place butter and sugar into TM bowl and beat until its is light and creamy. I’d say 3min/speed 3.5. Scrape down and repeat if necessary.
- Add egg and mix for 20secs/speed 2.
- Add dry ingredients, except extra sugar, and mix 45 secs/speed 3.5 until combined. Scrape down sides and final mix 15 secs/rev/speed 3.5.
- Remove mixture into another bowl (so you’re not scraping a metal spoon around inside your thermie bowl)
- Roll teaspoons full of the mixture into balls, dip the top in the extra castor sugar and place on a lined baking try, about 5 cms apart, to allow for spreading.
- Bake in a moderate oven (180 degrees) for 10 minutes until risen and just golden.

Tip
I place some on a small tray or plate and pop them into the freezer until firm. Then I remove and transfer to a ziplock bag or container and store them in the freezer until you need something homemade in a hurry - just pop them into your preheated oven, straight from the freezer.
