If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
Place dates in bowl. Chop (Speed 9, 15 sec), scrape down sides of bowl, and chop (Speed 9, 10 secs). Check consistency and repeat if necessary. Add sugar, butter and baking soda.
Pour 3/4C boiling water over and mix well (Speed 4, 10 secs).
Allow to stand until cold.
Add beaten egg. Mix (Speed 4, 3 secs)
Sift dry ingredients together and add gradually. Mix well. (Speed 4, 10 secs). Scrape sides of bowl. Mix (Speed 4, 5 secs)
Pour into greased tin. Bake in slow – moderate oven (160deg Fan Forced) for 40-45mins.
