Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
1. Preheat oven to 180°C or 160°C (fan forced). Line two baking trays with baking paper and set aside.
2. Place butter and sugar into mixing bowl "Closed lid" and mix 1 min/speed 3. You may need to stop and scrape down if it sounds like nothing is on the blades.
3. Scrape down sides then add egg and continue to mix for 2 min/speed 3.5.
4. Scrape down sides and plain flour, cornflour and salt. Without measuring cup, knead for approx 20 sec/"Dough mode" . Watch dough and stop as soon as it has just come together.
5. Add chocolate chips to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec/"Counter-clockwise operation" /speed 1. Don't overmix or the choc chips will start to breakdown.
6. Roll heaped teaspoons of the dough into a ball and place onto lined trays. Ensure dough balls are placed 4-5 cm apart as they will spread slightly as they cook. Once all dough has been rolled use a fork to lightly press down on each ball to slighly flatten it.
7. Bake for 10-15 mins until lightly golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a wire rack. Best eaten slighly warm or cool completely and place into an airtight container for storage.

Tip
If you make a double or triple batch just increase the time at step 4 and 5 and watch until it has just come together. All other times will remain the same.
VARIATION
This cookie was originally a chocolate biscuit. You can omit the chocolate chips and subsitute 2 Tbl of the plain flour for cocoa powder to make the original receipe which is just as good.
The cooking times suggested result in a softer style cookie, if you want a crunchy cookie just bake for an extra few minutes.

I made these using yoghurt in place of butter, and only half the sugar. My kids loved them! So easy and very very yummy.
Nice flavour. next time will
Nice flavour. next time will mill sugar for a few seconds first before creaming with butter.
