Spiced Honey Cake

Ingredients

14 slice(s)

  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 cups caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp all spice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp bicarb soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup honey

Recipe's preparation

    METHOD
  1. Preheat oven to 180C and grease 1 loaf tin. 

  2. Place all ingredients into mixing bowl, and mix together 20 -30 seconds/speed 4 until batter comes together. Stop TM if needed and scrape down sides to properly incorporate all ingredients. Mix again 15 seconds/speed 4. 

  3. Pour batter into greased tin and place tin on shelf in middle of oven for 1 hour.  Insert skewer when time is up to check for cake to be cooked.

Tip

I did try to weigh out ingredients on my TM but found it just as easy to measure out using cups.

    Deliscious & easy treat. Loads of sugar but while it was definitely sweet it wasn't excessive. Would have liked gram conversion (will take notes next time). Loaf bulges up as seen in picture in standard load tin. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Great for Banana's in Pyjama's fans too 😁
