Recipe's preparation

  1. Place yeast and water in TM bowl. Time 2 minutes, 37 degrees, speed 1.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and combine 5 seconds, speed 3.

  3. Set TM to locked lid and knead Dough mode"Dough mode"  dough for 2 minutes. 

  4. Remove dough from TM bowl and place in a large bowl that has been lightly oiled and cover bowl with plastic wrap. Allow to prove and double in size in a warm place for about 30 minutes. 

  5. knock down dough by prodding it with you fingers and then divide dough into 10 portions.

  6. Roll each portion into a ball and using a rolling pin and on a lightly floured surface roll into flat rounds approximately 2mm thick

  7. Heat a small frying pan, add a small amount of oil and when hot, cook pita on each side until golden. Serve immediately.

Tip

Dough can be easily frozen after it has proved and then defrosted when ready for use.

    Oh My Goodness! What an amazing recipe. These wraps are just perfect. Great with our Chicken Souvlaki also used them as a pizza base for a quick pizza in the Airfryer. As I cooked mine, I put the cooked ones on a plate and covered with cling wrap while cooking the remaining ones. It kept the moisture in and the wraps were nice and soft/ pliable. I also froze the cooked leftovers when cooled. Just popped in an airtight plastic slide bag with glad bake between them. Perfect when thawed. Thank you for a fantastic recipe. The best by far.

    I cannot believe this recipe only has 29 reviews! I classify myself as a bit of a pita snob, but this recipe is the bomb! My go to pita recipe where each time I make, I am always asked "where do you buy these, these are amazing"!

    Love these pita breads, quick, easy and delicious. Also made up the dough and used as pizza bases which worked really well.

    Lovely and soft. Easy to make. Did not change a thing. Filled them with spicy chicken, lettuce, tomato and sweet chilli mayo. Delicious

    Soft and light when cooked. Far better than store bought. Need to make a double quantity, everyone loved them and easy to do.
