Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Put Water and Yeast into bowl and mix 5 sec/speed 3
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix 15 sec/speed 3
  3. knead dough for 8 mins/Dough modedough function
  4. Pop dough into an oiled bowl, cover and rest for 20 mins (if using active yeast only rest until dough has doubled in size - approx one hour)
  5. turn dough out and punch the dough to remove gases
  6. weigh into equal parts and shape into balls. Roll the balls until you have a nice smooth shape.
  7. evenly space balls in an oiled and floured baking dish a few cms apart.
  8. Leave rolls to prove in a warm place. If you are placing in a dry heat, cover with a damp tea towel so they don't dry out.
  9. When the rolls have roughly doubled in size, brush with egg and milk and place them in a pre-heated oven 180°c and bake for 15-20 mins or until golden brown.
