    Kazza's Italian Sesame Bread
  1. Add all ingriendents in order as listed.

Mix for 20 seconds gradually upping the speed to 7.

Knead for 8 minutes and leave to rest for 30 miuntes in bowl.

Gently deflate dough and devide into three equal parts.

Roll each piece into a 20 cm log, tapering the ends slighly.

Place the logs on a lightly greased baking mat and braid them loosely, pinch the ends togther and tuck them under.

Leave to proof until doubled in size.

    Preheat over to 180

When doubled in size - brush lightly with egg and milk and sprinkle the sesame seeds over the top.

Bake for 30 - 40 miutes until golden brown or until thermometer reads 90 degrees C.

If bread appears to be browning quickly - cover with foil for the first 15 minutes then remove the foil.

Tip

Have a little spray bottle handy......fill with water and throughout the cooking process give a couple of sprays in the oven (about three prays  every 10 minutes or so) Gives bread nice hard crust.

  • This has to be the easiest

    Submitted by Elenikat on 30. June 2016 - 21:41.

This has to be the easiest bread I have ever made ! Needed some fresh bread to serve with a soup for dinner.

OMG . Great crust, fluffy yummo ! TOO EASY.. Made individual loafs, 3 mid sized - will make again and freeze.

Bought a combi steam oven ( V-zug ) which cooked with steam injection so no need for spray bottle !! Im in bread heaven !! Thanks for this super simple recipe.
