I haven’t tried this recipe yet, but doing research to make up something similar. Looking at the recipe and the comments, I think I see the problem!!! The creator likely has used 1 cup of each ingredient. Not 250g of each. Each ingredient has a very different weight per cup. I recon if you tried it using 1 cup of each (weigh them so you know for next time!) you would get a better result. Good luck!

I've just made it after reading comments with 300gm sugar, 80gm Cocoa, 250gm water. It worked out ok although next time I'll increase sugar to 350gm or maybe reduce cocoa to 50gm.

First time I made this it was so thick we couldn't get it out of the bottle and way to rich. 2nd time I added more water not sure how much until it was a better consistency and only put 200g of cocoa but still too rich. Next time I will halve cocoa and double water and see how that goes.

  • I made it as per the recipe!

I made it as per the recipe! It became very thick indeed. Is it possible to loosen a little bit in some way?

Followed this recipe exactly and was terribly thick and 250g is way too much cocoa!
