      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Preparation
  1. Step 1. Mix the spices together in a mixing bowl then add cubed chicken meat, toss to coat, and set aside.

Step 2. Add onion and garlic to TM bowl and chop 5 sec, speed 7. Scrape down sides of bowl.

Step 3. Add butter and saute 3 mins, 100 deg, speed 1.

Step 4. Insert butterfly. Add chicken and saute for 5 mins, 100 deg, Counter-clockwise operation speed 1.

Step 5. Add tomato paste and cream and simmer gently for 5 mins, 100 deg, Counter-clockwise operation speed 1, with the simmering basket on the top to stop the sauce from splashing.

Omg, I've been cooking this recipe of years and the kids love it! It's out go to at least once a fortnight!

Last night I substituted the cream for Coconut Cream and wow . Delicious and adds so much more flavor! Definitely will be cooking it this way from now on. Huge hit with the kids too which is a win win!☺️

    Very quick and easy.
This will be a go to butter chicken, despite having tried many other thermomix recipes.

Added 20g extra tomato paste because it was the last of a batch that I wanted to use up- and an extra clove or garlic because it was the last of a bulb.
I omitted the chilli for my 4 and 1 year old. They didn't complain at all about the food tonight. That's a win. Even my snobby hubby enjoyed it. He said it didn' t taste authentic, but it as still nice.

served it's rice and garlic naan. Will attempt to add veg of some sort as a side next time.

Great recipe for a beginner because it is quick and simple.

I’ll keep it for a Panic Night meal when I need something quick.

I used 1 kilo of chicken and added a carrot and half a zucchini. Still heaps of sauce.

    Submitted by cbeer on 8. November 2017 - 13:17.

    I seriously LOVE this recipe!
It has very quickly become a family staple. When it's just my partner and I, I make it spicier by adding a little more chilli, but the kids love it as it is.
We have it at least weekly, I'd have it more if I could get away with it!! So easy compared to other recipies with an ingredient list a mile long, and the taste is awesome! Love, love, love it!

I added 1 cube of palm sugar and cooked a little longer. Also agree that the longer it sits before serving the better it is. Very easy and very close to what I buy for takeaway, much cheaper too. Thanks

This recipe is amazing! It really does get better the longer it stands. I put it in the thermoserve for a while as I prepared everything which made it great but then I had some of the leftovers the next day and it was even better again! Wow. Never having store bought butter chicken ever again.

Tasted delicious. I didn't add chilli though as my kidlets won't touch anything hot. I also cooked for 10 minutes in that last step as it was still really raw prior to last step. Didn't think 5 mins would cook it enough and my cubes were small. Thankyou for the recipe.  tmrc_emoticons.)
