Asian Style Chicken Burgers

  • 500 grams chicken breast, chopped into 5cm pieces
  • 1 red onion
  • 125 grams cream cheese
  • 70 grams Roasted or Raw Cashews
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/3 cup Basil leaves
  • plain flour, for rolling
  • oil or butter, for frying

Sauce

  • 1/3 Cup white vinegar
  • 1/3 Cup water
  • 1/3 Cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Sweet chilli sauce
  • 2 teaspoons oyster sauce
  • 1 red chilli, remove seeds and sliced

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

  1. Peel lemon rind and add to mixing bowl, blitz for 10 seconds , speed 8
  2. Add cashews to bowl and blitz for a further 5 seconds, speed 6
  3. Add onion and basil to bowl and chop for 5 seconds, speed 5
  4. Add chicken breast to bowl and mix for 20 seconds, speed 6
  5. Add cream cheese to mixing bowl and combine for 20 seconds , speed 4
  6. Roll mixture into 12 equal size burgers, then flatten slightly and toss through flour until coated. Wash and dry mixing bowl ready to make sauce.
  7. Heat oil or butter in a large non-stick frying pan , cook over medium heat for 10-12 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown. Meanwhile make your sauce.
  8. Add all sauce ingredients to mixing bowl and cook for 5 mins, 90 degrees, speed 3.

    Pour sauce over burgers and enjoy !
