Honey Chicken

  • 500-1000 grams chicken breast, 500g feeds roughly 4 people if serving with rice
  • 280 grams water
  • 1 egg
  • 150 grams self-raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 130 grams cornflour
  • 1 pinches pepper, ground
  • oil, for frying
  • honey, to drizzle over chicken

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipe's preparation

  1. Cut chicken into cubes

    To make the batter:
    Put water & egg into thermomix - 10sec, Speed 5
    Add SR flour, salt & pepper - 30sec, Speed 5
    Pour into large bowl

    Heat oil in large frying pan
    While oil is heating coat chicken in seperate bowl containing the cornflour
    Then dip chicken into batter & fry immediately in batches until crispy and cooked through

    Serve with rice and drizzle chicken with as much honey as you like

This recipe makes a good amount of batter enough to coat up to 1kg of chicken. 500g serves roughly 4 people if served with rice.
