Recipe's preparation

  1. Grate cheese 10 sec / Spd 8 & set aside.

  2. Meat sauce
  3. Chop carrots, onion & garlic cloves 5 sec / Spd 5, scrape down sides and chop another 5 sec / Spd 5.Add oil & sauté 2 min / Varoma / Spd 1.Preheat oven to 200° C.Add meat & cook 5 min. / Varoma / Gentle stir setting / Counter-clockwise operation.Add tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, stock cube, sugar & oregano and cook 12 min / 100° / Counter-clockwise operation / Spd 1-2.Pour into Thermoserver/bowl (doesn't need to stay warm) & rinse out Thermo bowl.

  4. Bechamel sauce
  5. Melt butter for 2 min / 100 ° / Spd 1.Add flour & cook for 1 min / 100 ° / Spd 1.Add milk & salt, scrape flour mixture from bottom through milk & mix for 2 sec / Spd 5 to combine. Cook for 8 min / 100 ° / Spd 2. Check if all flour combined by scraping again with spatula, then briefly mix again for 2 sec / Spd 5.

  6. Layering
  7. Spread some bechamel sauce in the bottom of a baking dish, line with lasagne sheets, top with bechamel again, sprinkle some cheese and then start layering meat, lasagne sheets, bechamel, cheese until top of dish is reached. Generously sprinkle cheese on top layer.

  8. Bake In the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Lasagne is done when a toothpick easily pierces through the layers and the cheese is nicely browned. Let rest for at least 20 min before cutting and serving. Enjoy!!

Tip

I used a cube of beef stock, but it would easily work with TM stock paste, though may require some experimenting to see how much.

Use a slotted spoon to scoop the meat sauce into the baking dish to prevent the lasagne being too saucy!

There is no heat in this recipe, so it's perfect for kids too, but if you're like me and like a little bite, this is extra yummy with some Tabasco sprinkled over tmrc_emoticons.)

    Submitted by kate.lanham on 26. April 2017 - 14:59.

Hello, how many layers should this make? I find whenever I make lasagna I usually put too many layers in and run out of sauce or meat! And what size baking dish? Getting these things wrong can make or break a lasagna so it would be nice to have these details.

  • There was another lady

    Submitted by eroberson on 6. June 2016 - 09:59.

There was another lady further down that used dried sheets and said the lasagne turned out quite dry. I wouldn't know how to remedy that as the meat sauce is quite runny already, so would be reluctant to add more liquid. It's definitely a winner with fresh lasagne sheets (which you can freeze any unused portion of).

Hi Nibstara, if you think the dish was a bit dry, next time try using fresh lasagne sheets instead of dried & add a zucchini to the meat mixture. This should sort out the consistency. Have fun with it. X

  • Seriously a recipe everyone

    Submitted by emilymullins on 12. May 2016 - 11:01.

Seriously a recipe everyone should try! I absolutely love it, my partner was not keen on me trying to make it as usually I fail fantastically when trying new recipes! But this was a total success! I made it for the second time last night & added zuccini & mushrooms with the other vegies, it was great. The first time I made the Bechamel was a bit of a disaster as I had the blades on reverse (probably proving my partner's point haha) but I just fiddled with it & it was fine. Last night I followed the recipe & it was a lot better! Definitely a new favourite!

  • This is our new go-to lasagna

    Submitted by tgnalxsmhari on 7. May 2016 - 13:48.

This is our new go-to lasagna recipe.

No recipe has ever lived up to mums lasagna until we tried this one. Made it last weekend as gluten free and making it again tonight. Thank you!

I should mention that the swap to gluten free bechamel required a fair bit extra flour as well as longer in the thermomix and the sauce then became very floury so I added both tasty and Parmesan to the sauce and it was delicious.

    Submitted by dalaeh on 29. November 2015 - 12:06.

Much easier than my traditional lasagne recipe! I found the white sauce to be a little too thick for me and it was hard to spread, so next time will either reduce the flour or add more milk to it. Like others have done I will also add more veggies to the mix next time too.

    Submitted by oMo on 22. March 2015 - 17:07.

My husband made this gluten free so that the entire family could enjoy it (7 year coeliac).  We all loved it! especially the kids, they gave it rave reviews. My husbands only issue, is he followed the layering and wondered why he had run out of sauce for the top lol, he realised he doesn't normally do the sauce on the bottom so had to make up another quick batch :D
