Stir-fried Hairy Gourd with Dried Shrimp and Tang Hoon

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

    Stir-fried Hairy Gourd with Dried Shrimp and Tang Hoon
  1. Soak dried shrimp till soft in 150ml of water (at least 20min). Reserve the water and set aside if you do not have chicken stock.
  2. Soak Tang Hoon till soft (at least 20min)
  3. Add garlic in mixing bowl and chop garlic (5sec/Speed 5)
  4. Saute garlic and dried shrimps (3min/Varoma/Counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting)
  5. Add in hairy gourd. (4min/Varoma/Counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting) The hairy gourd should look translucent by now, after cooking.
  6. Pour in chicken stock OR dried shrimp reserved water, and tang hoon. (2min/Varoma/Counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting) Add salt to taste, but I omit for my kids.

Tip

Note: Tang Hoon is also known as glass noodles/mung bean noodles. They absorb water/sauce so it is ideal to serve dish immediately, or only add it in when you are about to serve.
