Pasta Sauce

  • 1500 grams Mixed Tomato Variety
  • 2 Red onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch fresh basil
  • 1 bunch fresh oregano
  • 20 grams olive oil
  • 60 grams red wine vinegar
  • 1 heaped tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 red chilli
  • 200 grams red wine
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

    Pasta Sauce
  1. Peel onions and garlic
  2. halve onion add to mixer with garlic
  3. 4 seconds speed 7
  4. scrape down the sides
  5. cook 3 minutes 100 degrees Gentle stir setting
  6. half Tomatoes and add to bowl
  7. 80 minutes 100 degrees speed 1 with simmer basket on top instead of measuring cup
  8. tear up herbs and to bowl
  9. add all other ingredients
  10. cook 25 minutes 100 degrees speed 1
  11. Blitz sauce 12 seconds speed 10
  12. pour into sterilised warm jars

this sauce is a great base to any tomato dish it can be used as is with fresh cooked pasta or add meat

also great on home made pizza
