  • 1/2 brown onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, bottled is fine
  • 30 grams Butter, can substitute olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon black peppercorns, soaked in water
  • 1/4 cup --- Port
  • 500 gram water
  • 30 g Cornflour.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Chop onion sp 4 for 7 seconds 

  2. Add butter and garlicand sauté 3 min/varoma/sp1

  3. Add peppercorns, port, water and cornflour and cook 10min/100deg/ sp1

  4. Add salt to taste

  5.  Bring speed up to 8 slowly with MC on for 30 sec to break up peppercorns Taste, and serve

Tip

If using green peppercorns, blitz half first and then add remaining at end so they are still whole,

Substitute port for brandy or sherr or wine

    It wasn't bad. I just want a meatier pepper gravy and this was missing something. Maybe it's some stock. I reckon finding that missing ingredient gives it 5 stars but I'm not a good enough cook to know what that ingredient is.
