Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Tip
Adapted from Sarah Wilson's I quit sugar.
You can also roast the hazelnuts for 10 mins in the oven first and then remove the skins before mixing. I find the taste is no different so dont bother with the roasting!

Haven’t made this yet. When I do, do I need to let the hazelnuts cool as I will be roasting or can I just go straight ahead with the recipe once skins are off?? TIA! 😊
If you remove the hazelnut
If you remove the hazelnut skins they are less bitter ☺️
I find this too bitter and so
I find this too bitter and so do the kids could you add less nuts ?? or whatever to make it not so bitter
A little grainy, my kids
A little grainy, my kids didn't like it. Hubby and I don't mind it. But definatley not passable as 'Nutella' like the recipe says. I would go more with a chocolate Hazelnut spread. Followed the recipe exactly. A better alternative to Nutella. If the kids don't like this then they will have to learn to live without Nutella.
Yummy and very easy to make!
Yummy and very easy to make! I swapped the maple syrup for rice malt syrup. My came out a little darker due to the cacao powder I used.
