Tony's Easy Kasundi Sauce

kasundi Sauce-Relish

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 40 g ground ginger
  • 2 Red Chilli's
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard seeds
  • 1 Granny Smith Apple, peeled and quartered
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 40 g olive oil
  • 1 tsp whole cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Corriander Seeds
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 150 g malt vinegar
  • 400 g crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp raw sugar
  • 100 g tomato paste

Recipe's preparation

    Kasundi Sauce - Relish
  1. 1. Add garlic,ground ginger,chilli's,mustard seedsapple and cloves to bowl and chop for 5 seconds speed7

    2. Scrape down sides of bowl and add olive oil and saute for 3 minutes 100 deg speed 1

    3. Add all remaining ingredients and cook for 30 mimutes 100 deg speed 1

    4. Spin for 20 seconds slowly increasing speed to speed 7,let cool then pour into glass jars (i usually get 2 small sauce botlles full)


Accessories you need



This Kasundi is traditionally used in curries such as butter chicken but can also be used as a side sauce or dipping sauce,it can also be used on pies etc instead of tomato sauce
