For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add the peanuts and salt to the TM mixing bowl.
  2. Blend for 20 Seconds on Speed 8.
  3. Spoon out approximately 1 cup of chopped peanuts into a small bowl and set aside.
  4. Blend the remaining peanuts on Speed 10 for 1.5 minutes.
  5. Remove the lid, and decide if you want the peanut butter to be a little smoother or not. If it's smooth enough for your preference, simply press Next. If you want it to be smoother, blend on Speed 10 for 30 seconds.

Tip

After you've made this for the first time, you'll know whether you want more or less salt. Or you can omit the salt completely if you prefer.
We buy 1kg of good quality roasted peanuts and save 100g for topping Asian dishes.
I can't say for sure how long this peanut butter can keep for - in our household two jars lasts 1-2 weeks, but in a cool, dry pantry it should store very well for a month.
Any other good quality roasted nuts can be substituted (cashews, almonds etc) or you can use a mix of nuts.
