Tip

This is a great easy recipe for kids to make themselves.

Can use different types of chocolate blocks for variety, e.g - white choc, peppermint, caramello etc

Delicious served warm or cold - consistency is very similar to store bought chocolate yogo type desserts. Store in an air tight container in fridge for a few days (if it lasts that long)

Will thicken upon cooling, but you can cook for 1-2 mins longer for thicker consistency when hot.

    Submitted by mizzi6 on 26. July 2017 - 13:55.

Can i ask a question,, I made this yesterday and did the exact quantities but it hasnt gotten thicker. it was actualy liquad when put in my fridge and when i took it out to check had built a skin on top but that is it. That skin is still there so the custard is half chunky and then runny. I dont have a Thermomix but i do have a Bellini or Smith and Noble as they are now called and its basically the same thing.
What can i do to see if i can fix this and make it turn into actual custard

    Thanks

LOVED it! Only my second recipe to cook in my new thermo and it was another hit. We planned to eat it warm, so added the extra 2 minutes on as suggested and it was delicious. Can't wait to try it cold tomorrow. I also didn't have any corn flour and used plain instead and it turned out fine.

    Submitted by Samalan22 on 24. March 2014 - 17:51.

I made this this morning & it looked & tasted great!,  the small amount of left overs we had went in the fridge & later I noticed the nice smooth yogo now appears to have a sandpaper type feel to it, it feels like there's still sugar granules in there, any ideas why this has changed once placed in the fridge?? tmrc_emoticons.~

    Submitted by Suziewoods on 2. September 2013 - 10:35.

I got my thermomix on Friday and this was the first recipe my daughter, who is 7, made together as soon as she got home from school. We used dark chocolate and she loved it, as did I. She has been enjoying it every night for dessert. Its rich enough that she only needs a small bowl but not too rich Cooking 7

  • I was excited to make this

    Submitted by harvestperth@hotmail.com on 16. July 2013 - 17:36.

I was excited to make this because of all the great comments and reviews but to be honest, I didn't like it at all... Like everyone else I had to cook mine for 2 mins longer to get the desired consistency, the amount of chocolate was a bit worrying, I did not give this to my kids at all, it is way too sweet and sugary for my children they would be bouncing off the walls. If I make this again, which is very unlikely I would use a dark choc or a choc with less sugar.

  • Maybe different fridge temps

Submitted by Mum the chef on 30. June 2013 - 13:05.

Maybe different fridge temps (mine isn't that cold) alters weather the milk reaches the 90 degrees by the time allocated. I think 8 mins as most people suggest should  suffice to see it cooked and thickened  enough. If not just give it the extra extra minute to thicken to your liking.

    Submitted by traceyhill on 21. May 2013 - 09:32.

I made this last night and did exactly as the recipe said.  It didn't reach the 90 degrees in the 6 minutes allocated.  It came out very runny which I thought would thicken up overnight in the fridge.  No luck.  I think I will try it again but leave it for a couple of extra minutes once it reaches the 90 degrees.
