Tip
Works well with other cuts. For rump, reduce time to 20 minutes.
All vegetables can be substituted. It still works well without celery.

Really flavoursome. 2t of cloves seems excessive, but I followed the recipe regardless and it was good, but I could scale it back to 1t next time as it was quite pronounced. A handful of dried apricots would probably be amazing in this too.

Just made this. Lovely sweet taste. Will let it sit for a day to consolidate the flavours then use it for something to look forward to to break up the work day
Great recipe - hit with all
Great recipe - hit with all the family. I used chuck steak. Doubled the recipe so put it all in a casserole dish for the main cook. Will become a regular in our house!
A lovely dinner the family
A lovely dinner the family will eat. I've cooked this dish a couple of times now. I only cook the meat for 30mins otherwise I find it goes tough. I often leave out the thyme and ground cloves as I often don't have them available (I did try grinding my own cloves but that's too much work when you're in a hurry). A lovely dish with just the right amount of kick to serve something different to the family, and they love it!

I really enjoyed this, the beef was tender and I love that there were veggies in it but they couldn't be noticed. Being new to thermomix, i wasn't sure what soft speed was, but kept on spped 1 for the 45 minutes and that seemed to be approprate. Hubby also enjoyed!
