Chickpea and lentil patties

Patties

  • 1 onion, Quartered
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon cumin ground
  • 400 grams Chickpeas drained, (Canned)
  • 400 grams lentils, drained and rinsed, (Canned)
  • 60 grams sunflower seeds
  • 60 grams coriander leaves and stems
  • 2 eggs
  • 120 grams plain flour

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add the onions and garlic to the bowl and chop for 5 sec on speed 5.

    Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add turmeric, cumin and oil then cook for 5 mins, varoma on speed 1.

    Add chickpeas, lentils, sunflower seeds, coriander and eggs and chop for 5 secs on speed 5. Scrape down the sides and repeat until desired consistency is reached.

    You can add the flour to the bowl and mix but I prefer to scrape it out into a bowl and add the flour (1 cup).

    Roll into balls and shallow fry until golden brown.

Tip

Serve with salad and hummus or make into kebabs.
