PALEO Chicken & Kale Meatballs with Tomato & Carrot Sauce (Toddler Friendly)

Meatballs

  • 5 g nutritional yeast
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 40 g Kale
  • 500 g chicken mince
  • 30 g Flaxseed Meal

Sauce

  • 1 brown onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 400 g tomato passatta
  • 2 tsp parsley
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable stock paste (EDC)
  • 350 g Bone Broth
  • 20 g coconut oil
  • 2 Carrots chopped

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Meatballs
  1. Describe the preparation steps of your recipe

  2. Add Garlic and chop 3 Sec, Speed 7. Scrape down sides

  3. Add 40g Kale Chop 10 Sec, Speed 7. Scrape down sides

  4. Add Mince, Nutritional Yeast & Flaxseed Meal and combine 20 Sec, Speed 4 Counter-clockwise operation

  5. Using damp hands roll into Tablespoon size balls.

    (using damp hands will prevent sticking)

  6. Place balls into your Varoma tray and set aside

  7. Rinse and dry Bowl

  8. Sauce
  9. Place onion and garlic to Bowl Chop 3 Sec, Speed 7 Scrape down sides

  10. Add oil and sautee 3 Min. Speed 1, 100 Degree's

  11. Add Passata, Carrots, Parsley, Stock and Bone Broth.

  12. Place on lid without MC

  13. Place on Varoma tray

  14. Cook Meatballs and Sauce 20 Minutes, Varoma, Speed 3

  15. Remove Varoma Tray and set aside

  16. Blitz sauce for 30 Seconds gradually increasing the speed from Speed 4 to Speed 9

  17. Serve Sauce over Meatballs or reserve in your Thermoserver and cook some steamed Vegetables

Tip

Check on the Meatballs after 15 minutes in the Varoma. If ready, brown the Meatballs off in a fry pan with some coconut oil just to give them a little colour.

Season the sauce to taste.

Serve over Steamed Vegetables or Black Bean Gluten Free Noodles like I have for my 2yr old.

    looks yum! do you have a recipe for the bone broth? and would it work if i subbed the passata for a can of chopped tomatoes?
