Chestnut Spread

  • 500 grams Roasted Chestnuts
  • 1 tablespoons Dutch processed cocoa
  • 100 grams Rapadura Sugar
  • 10 grams honey
  • 100 g water
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence/Extract

Recipe's preparation

    Roasted Chestnuts
  1. Heat oven to 180-200C. Score each and every chestnut. Place all on a baking tray and roast chestnuts in oven for 20 minutes or until shell splits.

     

    While still warm, crack open and separate the shells. Place all chestnut meat into TM bowl.

  2. Chestnut Spread
  3. Add all ingredients into TM bowl. Cook at 100 degrees/speed 1/15 minutes.

     

    Once cooked, purée the ingredients into a creamy consistency by blending at speed 7/1-2 minutes.

     

    Allow to cool slightly before adding to jar.

Tip

To score a chestnut for roasting, make a single 1/8 deep slit across the center of the rounded side of the nut. This will create a hinge that opens up like a clamshell once cooked. The chestnut meat should easily pop out of the opening and is ready to use for this recipe.
