      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. - Quarter fresh tomatoes and place face down in colander or steamer basket and allow juice to drain for about an hour

    -Plsce garlic in bowl and turbo 1 sec, scrape down sides of bowl and repaeat if necessary.

    -Add prunes/plums and mix for 20 secs, speed 7.

    -Add remaining ingredients and cook for 40 mins, 100 deg C, speed 1.

    -Once completed, blend for 1 min, gradually increasing speed from 4-9.

    - Pour into sterilized jars and store in fridge.

Tip

-I buy tomatoes when they are cheap and ripe in summer and freeze whole in the freezer. When they defrost they split and de-skin in the process, saving the need for doing so in the cooking process.

- when plums are in season in use ripe blood plums for this recipe, otherwise it tastes delicious with plum and is a lovely fruity sauce.
